Complex Medical Equipment Installation Requires More Than Transportation
When Matachana Germany was tasked with delivering and installing a 6-tonne autoclave chamber at University Hospital Leipzig, the challenge extended far beyond transportation.
The project demanded detailed planning, specialist engineering, precise coordination and expert execution within an existing hospital environment. GOCELO was selected to manage the complete implementation – from the initial site survey through to the successful installation of the equipment.
The challenge

The real challenge started once the equipment arrived at University Hospital Leipzig.
The six-tone autoclave chamber could not be moved into the building in an upright position because the available ceiling height along the transport route was too low. Instead, it had to be brought into the building horizontally before being carefully rotated into its final position inside a highly confined technical room.
From that moment on, every movement mattered.
The available working space was measured in centimeters. As the chamber was lifted and rotated, the structural load situation changed continuously. This meant that the specialist scaffolding structure had to be repeatedly reassessed and adapted throughout the installation to maintain maximum safety and stability.
Only after several precisely coordinated lifting and rotation stages could the chamber be lowered, millimeter by millimeter, into its final floor recess.
The project required not only specialist lifting equipment, but also continuous engineering expertise, real-time decision-making and seamless coordination between GOCELO, Matachana Germany and all specialist contractors involved.
